About The Albatross

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”  ~G. Santayana

The Albatross is helping to answer the age-old question, “I wonder whatever happened to those guys.”  Interviews and reunion information for bands that are no longer around, broken up, on indefinite hiatus, or whatever you wanna call it.

First and foremost The Albatross is a place for nerds and I sincerely mean that in most gracious way.  Just because a band breaks up doesn’t mean they don’t have something to say.  It doesn’t mean the people aren’t still relavent.  I started playing music again a couple of years ago, and somehow found myself surrounded by people who I really looked up to when I was a kid.  I found myself wanting to learn something from them, have them answer all the questions I had after they broke up.  I mean, that’s when you wanna ask the questions.  What are the regrets, accomplishments…does it mean anything to them that although it wasn’t stadiums they were selling out, they did effect a lot of people.  And so was birthed The Albatross.  I called in some favors.  Sat in front of my computer for hours interviewing and trying to figure out how to work WordPress because I figure there’s gotta be some other people out there who care about this stuff too.

The interviews aren’t meant to start stuff.  They aren’t meant to get people pissed off or fired up, but more just have a retrospective look on being in a band.  What are the regrets?  What are the accomplishments?  Being in a band that could have done better, and in most cases should have.  The Albatross is more of a ‘behind the scenes’ look at what it was like then and where they are now.  Of course we’ll ask some of the generic questions too.  Questions you may have been wondering for years.  You might even be surprised at some of them.

So I hope you enjoy the site.  Take a look around and if there’s anything we can do for you, let us know!
