New Found Glory To “Go Away For A Little Bit” in 2013 [UPDATE]

by on November 28, 2012

[UPDATE] Apparently Jordan Pundik didn’t mean a hiatus in his statement about New Found Glory in 2013, Chad Gilbert has been clarifying the statement on Twitter:

After a well received anniversary tour for their album “Sticks and Stones“, the pop-punk act New Found Glory will hang up their hats for a little while. This does not mean the band is breaking up, but simply taking a break. When discussing the hiatus in an interview, lead vocalist Jordan Pundik had the following to say-

” I think we need to go away for a little bit,” explains Pundik, who’s in the process of opening a tattoo shop in Nashville. “We’ve been touring for a long time. I don’t think anybody’s in the headspace for writing a new record. We won’t go away completely; we’re still gonna be doing things here and there, probably some one-offs and things like that. But to be honest I don’t think we’ll have anything new out until 2014.” But, Pundik adds, he’s not worried about the band members straying apart during any kind of hiatus.

“Oh, I’m completely confident we’ll be back,” he says. “We’ve done this before… the last time we had a long break was probably 2006 or 2007. A record runs its course and we take a break, and before long we’re ready to do something again.”
